What better way to spend a Monday evening than at a grave? Okay, maybe it doesn’t sound that amazing, but trust me, it is. Let me tell you why –– because it’s Edgar Allen Poe’s grave. Yeah, I thought that’d get you excited, dear reader.
October 6th at 6PM, five Maryland poets will be presenting the work of Josepehine Jacobsen, Michael Egan, Lucille Clifton, and Roland Flint, while Poe scholar and Baltimore native Jeff Jerome will give a special presentation. You can find more information about the presenters here.
The event will go on rain or shine, and will likely include a gathering afterwards at a local venue where everyone can read a poem from their favorite Maryland poet. So come check it out, and don’t forget to keep an ear open for the beating of Poe’s telltale heart!
