Katherine E. Young has been selected as the judge for the 2019 Wicked Woman Book Competition! The contest opens in September.
Katherine is the author of Day of the Border Guards and two chapbooks. She was a 2014 Miller Williams Arkansas Poetry Prize finalist. Her poems have appeared in Prairie Schooner, The Iowa Review, Subtropics, and many others. She is the translator of Farewell, Aylis by Akram Aylisli, as well as Blue Birds and Red Horses and Two Poems by Inna Kabysh; her translations of classic and contemporary Russian-language writers have won international awards. Young was named a 2017 National Endowment for the Arts translation fellow and from 2016-2018 served as the inaugural poet laureate of Arlington, Virginia.
