Jan Mitchell-Sherrill

Jan-Mitchell Sherrill received his Master’s Degree at the University of North Carolina in the Writing Program at Greensboro and his Bachelor’s Degree at Towson University. His previous books of poetry include Blind Leading the Blind, which was nominated by novelist Anne Tyler for The American Book Award, and Friend of the Groom. Friend of the Groom and Gunfire in Oz were nominated for the National Book Award. His fiction has appeared in Hometowns, the groundbreaking collection of fiction edited by John Preston, and most recently Everything I Have is Blue, edited by Wendell Ricketts. Sherrill has also published in venues devoted to academic administration, and, in the late 1980s, headed the team that performed a groundbreaking national study of campus violence
